Meanwhile, In Leytonstone…

If you’ve been following The Red Lion on twitter, you’ll know they’ve been planning a beer festival. These posters have appeared in their windows in the last couple of days – it’s going to be North V South, with 70 ales and 10 ciders to be enjoyed between the 10th-24th of October. All that and a pie-eating contest. What more could an East Londoner want?

Mark at the Red Lion has been kind enough to send me a beer list – there’s a few spots to fill but there’s certainly some excellent beers on there :)

Pie-eating contest, eh? Well, if they source the pies from, say, Keighley or Skipton, then it will be won by a Southerner…….someone so astonished at what a good pie tastes like that they will be unable to hold themselves back!

  3. TIW says:

Alan, so much out there these days it must be a nightmare choosing what to put on.

Affer, they’re meant to be opening a kitchen soon so they might be home-made. I’d be delighted to point them in the direction of Hirds or Lunds or Stanforth’s!
