    Did you go there c.1981 on your time travel scooter?

    Appledore is famous in my family because we spent a particularly miserable day there in about 1983. It rained throughout and everything was shut. To this day, if my brother and I are arguing, my Dad threatens us with: “Oi, shut up, or I’ll take you to bloody Appledore.”

  3. Hah – it’s even more shut now, unless you want a picture frame made from driftwood or a cardigan knitted from doghair. On the boarded-up Co-op there’s a very dry bit of graffiti commenting about second homes. I’ll stick a picture up of it one day.
