One afternoon in Appledore, Devon.
Very nice sir. Not looked here for ages but some great atmospheric details going on!
Did you go there c.1981 on your time travel scooter?
Appledore is famous in my family because we spent a particularly miserable day there in about 1983. It rained throughout and everything was shut. To this day, if my brother and I are arguing, my Dad threatens us with: “Oi, shut up, or I’ll take you to bloody Appledore.”
Hah – it’s even more shut now, unless you want a picture frame made from driftwood or a cardigan knitted from doghair. On the boarded-up Co-op there’s a very dry bit of graffiti commenting about second homes. I’ll stick a picture up of it one day.
