‘What’ll You ‘Ave?’

The British Film Institute is a bottomless well of archive gems. Here’s the trailer for the June 11th release of their two-disc DVD of  Roll Out The Barrel: The British Pub on Film which promises to be a ‘fantastic piece of British cultural history, featuring an intoxicating brew of classic documentaries, archive shorts and trade films celebrating the great British pub and its presence on our screens from 1944-1979’. I hope Little Wheels sees this when he’s browsing the web for Fathers Day presents…

    Appears as if the casks at 0:45 are St. Austell’s. Wonder what year it was filmed.

  2. Good spot. And the ones at 0.48 are Youngs – when did they bin wooden casks?
